Christians Against Poverty is a UK charity that supports individuals and families struggling with debt.

Since June 2021, the Mid Down CAP centre has been in Kilmore & Inch Parish.

About CAP:

As a partner church with Christians Against Poverty (CAP), we are part of a UK network of churches that seeks to help individuals and families escape from the grinding effects of poverty through debt counselling and personal mentoring. We do this by training and equipping local volunteers to reach out to folk in their own area.

CAP brings hope to thousands of people in the UK every year. Locally, CAP Mid Down has received 193 calls to access debt help since starting in 2013.

Bishop David commissions Norman Gibson and the team at a service in Kilmore Parish attended by local clergy, CAP supporters, and public figures.

On Sunday 27th June 2021, Kilmore & Inch Parish celebrated the recommissioning of CAP Mid-Down following the appointment of our own Norman Gibson as Debt Centre Manager. Norman took up the post upon the retirement of the founding manager, Winston Shaw (Edengrove PCI, Ballynahinch) who started the service in 2013.
